    I would think you could just google the fps of your bow... given you take into account the grain arrow your shooting.

      Yeah, just look up that bow on any hunting-supplies website that sells it, and it'll tell you the FPS. The kinetic energy depends in part on the weight of the arrow you're shooting, so I can't tell you that.

        There are Kinetic Energy calculators online - just search "Kinetic Energy Calculator." You just need to know how many FPS the arrow is traveling, and the weight of the arrow in grains.

          Just so you know, Kinetic energy is not all that important in my mind(I'm sure many people wont agree with me). As long as you are shooting a 50#+ bow, you should have no problem killing a deer sized animal. I think it more depends on choosing the correct broadhead(Fixed vs. mechanical). I've known girls who can only shoot 40# bows, but with a fixed blade broadhead they can still get clean passthrough shots on deer.
