When shooting my bow I apply the same basic disciplines of shooting a rifle: breath control, trigger control (my quick release), sight alignment, and sight picture. When shooting a bow is correct sight picture a focused, clear yardage pin and a blurry target or the other way around? Thanks

Always keep the target clear and the pin blurry, if you do it the other way around you run an increased risk of trying to control the movements of the pin, at least sub-consciously, and that is very bad form.

BEING a one shot deal I try to do both, checking my pin focus with my target alignment . The last shot you took is now history, the only one that matters now is the next one.Proper form for each indivdual will vary some,it's easy to out think ourselves sometimes with archery when were always trying to tweak out our best performance. Good luck

When I come to full draw I alternate between clear sight and then clear target. Then as soon as I pick a spot to aim for I focus on the target clearly because I know my sights are on and then squeeze the release. I notice the longer I aim the more blurry things become so I just basically look at sights on blurry target, look at blurry sights on target, fire. Happy huntin'
