That depends. What do you want to begin to do?. Shoot targets, shoot deer, shoot fish? It's easy to get caught up in all the hype that's out there today and everybody has their reasons for this advice or that advice. I'd go to a reputable archery shop in your area and tell them you're new to the sport and exactly what you want to use your bow for. They will be able to explain the different bows and how they work. Get a bow that you can afford, is comfortable to shoot and try not to worry too much about single or double cams, arrow speed and the like. Have fun with it and practice a lot. Getting the arrow where you want it to go is the most important thing and that takes practice.
