hello - 90 grains of powder or 2 50 grains of the pelllets ought to work just fine - hopefullyu you should be able to hit a pie plate -everytime- at 100 yrds - deadly elk medicine - they only require one dose - if taken properly - good luck hunting - yes- if you have a 54 use it if not berlieve me a 50 Gary

90 grains maybe ive been shooting the same gun for over 10 years take a can of powder and youre cleaning kit to the range start with 90 and go from up from there see what works best mine was triple f 120 grains with a 240 grain buffalo but it did take some time to find this out and accuracy at 100 is under 1.5 inches and clean barrel after every 6 to 10 rounds have fun its a great sport

With a 50, a RB will cleanly take deer out to 100 yards or so. Try 80 to 100 grains of 3F or Pryodex P with properly patched RB not 2F or RS. Finer grain powders shoot better and cleaner in 50 cal and smaller guns. People that knock 50 cal RB's as effective bullets have never tried them on game.
