I've been reloading for fifteen [give or take] years. Tumblers are made for those who reload their own metallic cartridges. They remove fouling, dirt, and debrise on and in the case neck, body, and primer pockets in preparation for reloading.
Any motion or action that would cause contact between the primer of one live cartridge and any hard object in rotorty or vibratory action is not a recommended practice. I would compare it to lighting up a cigarett while while filling your vehicle up with gasoline. You can do it but how many times can you get away with it? For your safety please don't try it!

I recently asked a question about polishing loaded cartridges in a tumbler and was told that any manufacturer's instructions would say not to polish loaded ammunition. In my research, the only manufacuture who had this prohibition was RCBS. Other manufacturers referred to polishing "brass" but said nothing about "cartridges" and had no warning about polishing "cartridges." I know the diff. between brass and cartridges. Does anyone have personal experience with polishing cartridges?Tags: None
