I am looking at reloading my .340WbyMag. The box of Berger 200gr X bullets (sealed box) says cal. 338, diam. .338. The bullets in the box measure .336". The expander button on my RCBS measures .336". A fired case mouth measures .338" What the heck is going on. A mouth expanded to .336" will not have enough bullet hold on a .336 bullet, especially without a cannelure. Anybody know what is going on ??

You only need to turn .001" or .002" off the expander ball.
Try removing the expander ball all together. Replace the .338" ball with a .308" or .277" so your decapping pin still works.
