Neither state list grizzlies on their website as having a hunting season for them, so it would appear the answer is No.

Go to http://fwp.mt.gov/wildthings/tande/grizzlybear.html, they are listed as being threatened and endangered in Montana. There is no hunting of animals that are threatened of endangered. They are not legal to hunt in Montana.

No, Montana or Idaho does not allow grizzly hunting. However, Glacier National Park is a very good place to see from afar if you just want to snap some pics. The parking lot at the end of the road in Many Glacier is outstanding if you have a spotting scope or binocs:

Viewing is excellent along the northern slopes, spring through fall.

You can hunt grizzlies in Alaska and British Columbia, but there have been questions raised about the long term viable populations of both the BC and the Alberta grizzly hunts (the Alberta hunts are currently suspended due to low populations).

I am from Montana, and I have heard rumors from a few friends in the Fish and Game where there was talk about a super lotto tag for a single grizzly bear hunt in MT, I dont know if that is actually going to happen or if its just hear say but I thought I would put my two cents in.
