We hunt in western Washington. We have our blind over looking a clearcut with a small meadow type area directly below us. We often see does and smaller bucks in the area. We know the big boys are in the area. But all we see are the tiny yearling bucks. Where are the older more mature deer? We believe the deer are in the timber and higher up in the tree farm. Where are the bigger deer hiding and how do we hunt them? Also since we are hunting blacktails, have you had any experience with rattleing in these deer? Thanks, Hunter Girl 1

Try hanging up some of that doe in heat scent that you can buy on the edge of the cut out you hunt over. The mature bucks are the one that breed the does, so smelling that doe urine should make them come in to check it out(some of the does the immature bucks are with might of already been bred, so the mature bucks will not be around them). I've never tried hanging up scent, but I would if I sat in the same spot all day like you do.

-I live and hunt in western Wa,too. My dad and I always say we want to rattle horns, but never get around to it.Heard it works, though. We don't usually hunt out of a blind. The big boy I shot a couple years ago was in the field right before dark, just happened to see him.
-What general area do you live in?
