why dont they measure the score of a deers rack by filling up a tank of water to the top and then put in the antlers and take them out then see how much water spills out to measure al of the mass of the deers antlers its suck a better method and if you ask me it seems easyer too.

One thing I can think of is that the spread of the antlers wouldn't come into play(a wide deer would not be scored any higher than one that is not). Besides that pretty creative idea, I like how you think haha.

It's a great idea for measuring mass and such, and then to measure width it's a simple stretch of the ol' tape measure. I do the same with fish at my hatchery to measure the weight I'm loading onto trucks. 155 pounds will raise 1 inch of water.

You still have to measure everything else so your just adding another step which is not worth the time. I pose this question, Why dont they just count the total length and leave out deductions and forget about typical and nontypical?

i personally HATE the boone and crockett system. they are looking for perfect not the biggest. when you say world record it should be the BIGGEST with the most bone on its head. not the one that is the most normal. they could even devide it into catergories. one for bucks with typical like antlers(as long as the frame is there) and then one for non typical bucks with no typical frame present at all. just my 2 cents
