Does there exist and if it does how can I obtain a rifled choke tube for a Remington 870??

    Thanks Big O regarding the threaded chokes,.. now we know. I think I would check out Mossbergs replacement barrels for the Rem 870...they are usually cheaper.

    Don't know how much money you have to spend, but one avenue might be a place like Hastings Barrels. (http://hastingsbarrels.com/12para.html) I have never used their stuff, but I have seen ads for them all over, also places like Cabela's sell replacement barrels.

    To Cody: Talked to my "smith" and he said could be done,but NOT CHEAP !
    He'd need a new barrel, with "factory" threads, cheaper in the long run.

    guess he will haveo shop for a new barrel that will allow for screw in chokes.I have seen them at gun shows for about 150 bucks.

    I don't believe an older Rem 870 with a choked barrel can be modified to handle the screw-in chokes. Machining and threading the barrel doesn't leave enough meat to safely support those handy chokes. Correct me if I'm wrong, any gunsmith out there.

    Sportsmans Whse,Dicks,etc.(lge. sporting goods stores) should all carry them.
