Does anyone have any experience with the Benelli supernova? Does the comfortech stock noticeably reduce recoil? And is this a solid reliable gun?

I second what the other guys here have said. I've shot several Supernovas and they run like a dog on fire. I've used them while hunting sea ducks where we would dip the entire shotgun into a tube of oil to keep the corrosion from the salt water at bay and even in freezing temps they never bound up, failed to feed, or otherwise quit.
As for the Comfortech stock, yes, it works well. There are a couple others on the market I'd say do a better job—the Beretta Kick-Off system and some of the Knoxx stocks—but the Comfortech is right up there.

Last season I bought a Benelli M2 that has the comfort stock, it does reduce recoil. Although it still does not shoot as gently as Remington Versa Max which is the softest shooting gun out there, even with 3.5 inch shells. The problem is Remington is having quality control issues on this gun. Many have sloppy forearms. I do not like my gun jumping when I shoot it. Reluctantly, Benelli got my business even after being a lifelong Remington guy.

I don't shoot one, but I have a buddy who will shoot nothing else. Early last season, he was struggling to cross a muddy marsh we had permission to hunt. It was just about the worst place to walk-in hunt, since the mud was shin deep. He got hung up and ended up falling and completely disappearing under the water. He came up spewing both muddy water and colorful verbiage. It was definitely a funny scene, but his Benelli was packed with mud. We took it apart and washed the mud out in the marsh water and cleaned it with a t-shirt. We reassembled it and it worked flawlessly that morning. Solid and reliable? I'd give that a strong yes.
