Pick up a Remington 870 Express. Will never fail, and you can save a few hundred dollars.

Triston, I would look around at a couple gun shows. You can find lots of used shotguns, some in excellent condition. Beyond that, I would look strongly at the Benelli Nova and Rem 870. I shot skeet for a number of years with my Wingmaster. The doubles stations take some getting used to but you learn to make followup shots very quickly. I believe the pumping action actually helps yopu get back on target by bringing the barrel back down after your first target. Good luck.

I recently picked up a Remington 870 Wingmaster for myself for 250.00 and a Mossberg 500 for 199.00 for my grandson you're age. You can buy a fantastic used shotgun cheap. Or you can buy a fancy new one for 600. Watever you do, get the one you want. That way you can sit for hours turkey hunting admiring you're gun...not wishing you had got the one you wanted. Also get the one that seems most comfortable for you, get familiar with it so you can be safe.

Get you an 870 express. I bought one at Academy Sports for 289.00 before tax. An extra short barrel can be had for 150.00 choke tubes can be bought at Wal-Mart for 15.00 or so. It will handle 3 inch shells for turkey and duck and some 2 3/4 low brass for skeet, dove, quail, ect. Extra sights, flashlights, and goodies are super easy to find that can be added. Not to mention you can hunt anything under a mule deer with one by buying reasonably cheap barrels. I carried one as a police officer and can testify they the 870 express is a ultra tough gun. One was left under a spare tire in the trunk of a Crown Victoria for only God knows how long and i took it out and cleaned the thing and took it hog hunting and had no problems.

Remington 870 will never let you down is correct. Whatever you choose to get, check the price of chokes first. Rem chokes at the local gun shop are 16 bucks some of the other guns can be 50 bucks
