I would suggest a Remington 870 but I am not sure if you will be able to find one with a camoflauge stock. If a camoflauge stock is a must check out the shotguns made by Mossberg.

Check out the work horse of shotguns the Mossberg. They are not real pretty but bottom line is they work and work well, at the wright price.

I'm not sure you can find a cheap 20 gauge with a camo stock, usually gunmakers put camo on their higher-end models only. If camo isn't absolutely necessary, (and I don't think it is for hunting), I would look at the H&R Ultra Slug Hunter. Yes, it's a single-shot, but it has a reputation for superb accuracy, and that's really what counts the most.

-The 500 is a good choice, my little cousin killed a turkey with one this year. He is 12 years old and had no problem operating the shotgun.
-Incase you did not know, Mossberg sells spacers that go between the stock and the recoil pad(I believe they are each 1" thick). These will allow you to lengthen the shotgun if it becomes to small as you grow.

IF you are willing to use the camo tape that doesn't leave residue, and buy used you can probably get a slug gun in that price range. I spent a year looking for a SxS in my price range and if you can wait it out and pull the trigger on a purchase when you see it, you can find what you are looking for if it's in the right price range. I would suggest looking at mossberg, NEF,Remington, and savage.

I like the 870 better than the 500, I have one of each. If you want a thumbhole stock deffinately go for the 870 due to the placement of the saftey on the 500.

i have 4 500s and 3 870's, the reason for this is it takes a mossberg and a half to equal the quality and reliabilty of an 870 in my opinion.

if you want a remington or well any gun even if it has a wood stock you can buy this typen of cammo stuff that you can put on your gun like tape but it comes off good and dosent leave sticky residue behind and they have three cammo configurations white with black kinda stripes for winter cammo for woods and a cammo for like turkey/waterfowl i think but it looks alot like the regular cammo.

I bought a Mossberg 190KB for $135 then traded it for a Mosberg 185D, both were bolt action and smooth bore. I am very pleased with it.
