Personally I would only shoot slugs in any shotgun with interchangeable choke tubes through very "open" ones, cylinder or improved cylinder at the most.
The Winchester 120 was manufactured in the mid-1980's and is a variant of the 1200, so it can be considered of modern manufacturing.
For better results you should select slugs that are designed for smooth bores.
