I have a Rem. 870 12 gauge and I put a slug barel on it with a scope mounted on a cantilever mount. My problem is that when shooting through the scope, I can't see through it when my cheek is on the stock. I have to raise my head up and it causes huge variations in my accuracy. Is there something I can do to raise the stock of the gun without changing the stock or screwing holes into it? I don't want to ruin the wood.

They have pads you can put over the stock of the gun. They come in all different sizes =].

Yes, there is something you can do without altering the stock. There are cheek rests that you can tie on, strap-on or velcro around your stock. Check out Midway USA or Brownells. These cheek rests should get your eye lined up with the scope without having to lift your head up off the stock.

Cabelas has them also, leather ones that tie on the bottom.
