I am looking at getting a shotgun that shoots 3.5 inch shells for goose and turkey hunting. I like the look of the remington 870 super mag turkey/waterfowl but is there a difference between that and a regular super mag?

I have shot Remington for over 30 years and the 870's are some of the best. But I have gotten to flinch from the recoil of the 3.5 shells.
But my father-in-law is in his 80's and he shoots a Winchester super X-2 with a limb saver pad on and he out shoots me for the number of shells we shoot in a season for geese and turkeys.
I'm a lot younger than he is and when I can afford I will get the super X-2 my self.
Good luck Jeff
