    I'll take a guess and say red clay and yes.

      yeah they degrade over time, depends on how small the pieces are and how much moisture the area gets.

        Clay pigeons do not degrade over time. They are composed of limestone and pitch. Limestone is non-toxic, pitch is toxic. So-called "biodegradable" clay pigeons from White Flyer are composed primarily of sulfur.
