I 2nd the Mossberg 835.

My current favorite is a Mossberg 835 shooting 3 1/2 inch mag. Federal Heavyweight #6 shot. It has kept my Rem. 11/87 SP in the gun cabinet for the past three seasons.

It is always important to pattern your "turkey load"-basically I look for at least 8 to 9 pellets in the head area on a paper target representing a life size bird.As for choice of shell-3 1/2 inch turkey load in a 12 ga.

One that will put aload of xx#2's where i want to put them at 40 yards.Mine is an o/u Iver&johnson gun and cycleworks with two full choked barrels.
