i have a mossberg 270 and added a bsa 3-9x50mm scope to it. i got the high rise mounts for it but the large end of the scope still touches the barrel. will this affect the sighting to where its off everytime i shoot?

With the objective bell (large end) touching the barrel you will have problems. The barrel vibrates as the bullet is going down the tube and this vibration will transfer to the scope. There is a good chance of not only sighting issues, but also your scope will get ruined.
As stated by BO, find anoither set of rings that will work or as Kody mentions, use some shims. One other route to take is to get a Leupold VX-3L 50mm scope. The bottome of the objective bell is concaved so it can be mounted lower, but your looking at spending some money.... around $779.99. Good luck and good hunting!
