I recently obtained a used Tikka M658 chambered in .30-06. The gun looks great and I'm psyched to take it out and start dialing it in. I purchased a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 with a mil-dot reticle. To finish out the details I need a good set of scope rings to mount to the dovetail grooved receiver. I found the optilock ring mounts on one gun sales website and ordered, only to get a message 2 days later that they put them on backorder and have no idea when they will be in. A call to Leupold left me with the answer: "We don't have a ring mount for that application in our specs." I'm getting tired of looking. Someone HELP!!

With the recoil from the 06 I wouldn't mount the scope on the gun go for a drill and tap and secure the scope .You will never be happy with half ass and the dovetail is just that.

I used Optilock rings and bases on 2 Sako TRG-S rifles chambered for Lazzerronis and a Tikka T3 in .270 Win. They hold up just fine. Sako makes quality stuff. I ordered quick release mounts direct from the U.S. Sako distributor. This was pre-Beretta so not sure if you can still order direct from them or not. Check the Sako website for the distributor info. Use this as a last resort, though, since you will pay full retail price.

Have you tried Midway USA, Midsouth, or Numrich's online? A large Michigan gun shop might have them in stock or know where to get them - Guns Galore, (810)629-5917. Good luck.

Thanks Mike. I was hoping to get Optilock Ring Mounts as my old model Tikka isn't pre-drilled and tapped for the bases from Optilock. I did get ahold of Brownell's and found a base made by Warne for Sako/Tikka that should do the trick. Supposed to be here in a couple days and then that gun is going to be well on it's way to a sweet whitetail slayer. Thanks Again!!
