I left off with the .270 last summer having worked up to a few grains below max for the components I’m using. I finally had some time this afternoon where I felt like I wouldn’t be rushed so got back at it. I have a bunch of Win and Rem brass prepped but decided to just reload the same brass I’d used earlier since I’m still in work up mode. I had 14 Rem cases and 3 Win cases so I loaded up 7 of the Rem and the 3 Win cases where I’d left off and loaded the other 7 Rem’s a half grain higher. So far I haven’t seen any difference between the two brands over the chrono so if these last loads give the same results as before I’m calling it good. The last group was right about MOA, a bit better than 100fps faster than similar factory loads and still under max book velocity with no pressure signs.
When the weather breaks we have these rounds to try out plus the new scope from Christmas on the Kid’s .222 to sight in. I also have the .22-250 to sight back in before trying out the loads I worked up for it last year. I’d changed the mounting position on that one to get the eye relief better but never got around to shooting it again. If I find another gloss scope for my old .243 I’ll need to dial that in as well.
Think Spring fellas!
