my brother wants to get a mosin nagant from fleet farm for target shooting plinking deer hunting if he ever goes up north or just for shooting coyotes if its the nearest gun and probably a protect my life gun. i know how they were used in ww2 as sniper rifles and infantry rifles. i know the are finns and soviets. i know the finns are better and i know there are occtigonal recivers to and those are also good. also i know there are model 91s ( the long ones) the m39s (the short ones) and the 44s or 41s ( the short ones with flip open bayonet.) the ones they have there are 91s ( the long ones) and im pretty sure they are soviet not finns but how do tell the difference and how much are they? i know that the ones they have are $100 on sale but they are otherwise between $110 and $120. mainly i just wanna know is it the right gun or is it not i also know the ammo is very cheap also there are many bulk packs.

WE ARE a shooting family, of the nagants we bought 6 total. although the bolts were tight on lock down they became easier with use. ACCURACY was not a problem with each shooting within tolerable groups.SHOOTING OFF HAND TARGETS AT 200 YARDS WAS A LOT OF FUN AND WE SHOT EXTENDED RANGES OUT TO 500 YARDS BUT NEEDED TO ALLOW FOR LOTS OF BULLETT DROP KENTUCKY WINDAGE .
