"It's not possible to tell exactly how many guns have been purchased because buyers often take home more than one gun. But most people pass the background checks. Only 1.3% of the searches result in people being denied permission to buy a weapon, said FBI spokesman Steve Fischer."
-I cant locate the reasons why they were denied though, sorry.

I would guess the percentage is low since someone that knows they will fail won't be buying guns from licensed dealers. The other day in the paper they said they seized a Colt 25 cal auto in NJ that had been stolen in Des Moines 30 years ago. I wonder what stories that pistol could tell? They did return it to the owner here.

I live in Massachusetts. In the process of getting an FID card, which will allow me to buy a rifle, shotgun and ammunition. Because of some digressions in the past I will never be allowed to own a handgun, EVER in this state (lifetime ban). These digressions were an assult and battery and a dwi. Needless to say I made some mistakes. I have not received so much as a traffic ticket since last incident ten years ago. Now my 2nd amendment right to own a handgun has been revoked by the state of massachusetts for life. What do you all think?
