I am left handed and my dad bought the Savage Axis and I love to shoot it but it is hard to use the bolt and just this morning I found the same gun on the Savage Arms website and It came in left hand! Perfect! Should I get it in 308 or 243

Hi...
I couldn't give a firm answer without knowing: what animal(s) you intend to use it on; will Savage exchange it at no extra cost to you; would it be difficult to learn to work the bolt with your right hand; what caliber is the new gun you have. (I'm a rightie who now writes left handed).
So...based on NO information...the .308 would be a better all-around gun for bigger game.

In my opinion, The 243 is a better choice with all the New Bullit weights out there! the 243 is a 6mm bullit in a 308 case..not taking away any thing from the 308,
I have seen a Moose taken with a 243 with a 100grBTSP/ LM interLock round one shot stop(Hornady Ammo) and.... ..Song-dogs at 380+/-yd with 58gr V-Max!
