    I'd recommend the 30-06 as ammo is easy to find and there is a large variety of bullet weights that will take all game in North America. I also recommend the Marlin XL-7, I bought one last year and it is a good rifle that shoots well, all five deer have dropped in their tracks.

      The .270 will be great for the animals you mentioned; however, I'd recomend the 30-06 in the event you wanted to go after larger prey and besides ammo is easier to find and in a wider range of bullet weights. I like the Marlin XL-7.
