I have a S&W; model 617 .22 cal revolver. Does S&W; make a .22 mag cylinder for such? Is the revolver strong enough for a .22 mag? If this is possible, what would the estimated cost for conversion be? Also could reg .22 long rifle shells be shot in the mag cylinder? What about having the cylinder reamed to .22 mag?

Just wondering, why do you want the 22Mag insteadof 22LR?
Sorry I can only answer one of your questions, as I am not familiar with the S&W 617.
-You COULD shoot a .22LR out of a .22MAG but it SHOULDN'T be done(risk major damage to weapon, but in a survival situation I suppose it may work).
