I'm and 13 years old. I live in manhattan Kansas. I own a .177 pump bb gun and and .30-06 savage bolt action rifle, But I could use my dads 12 gauge pump shotguns. I have access to plenty of land around my dads house. I want to get into competive shooting and try to become pro. What should I do to reach my goal, And to start competivily??

Look around for classes online near you(many of them are very low costing/free). They range from beginners to competitions for pros. The most important part is gun safety...keep that in mind. If law permits in your area you could make a course of your own at home(look at videos online and model it off of them) if you want some practice.

Just look for local shooting classes....maybe even go watch a professional shooting competition to see what it's like as a start...maybe ask some of the competitors how they got there.

If you aren't already, you and your Dad should join a local gun club. Not only will you usually get admittance to the local gun range for free... but they usually have quite a few classes and/or seminars available. The gun club I'm a part of here locally as quite a few competitions during the summer and fall months. I would probably start there...

And then? Practice, practice, practice. Best of luck to you!!

You should contact your local extension office. Pott county and Wabaunsee county both have outstanding 4-H Shooting sports programs. they offer BB Gun, Pellet gun, Smallbore rifle, Archery, shotgun, and more. Great place to learn the basics, get as competitive as you want, compete against great shooters, and have a ball!

So far, I've built a "bee vacuum" and a "swarm trap".
When I deploy the trap this spring, I'll need at least one hive....I hope!...
