Has anyone shot either the Remington R15 in .223 or the Remington R1 in .45 Auto? What kind of performance did both do? Could you give me reviews of both firearms? The model of R15 that I was looking at was the Byron South Edition, because of its extra features. Thanks

I have not shot the R1 in the .45 Auto, but I have an R-15 in .223, and I love it. Mine shot as well as bolt-action .223, or an easy minute-of-angle rifle out to 300 yards. It's lighter than it looks, with the big barrel shroud, and balances well. And for a production AR (ooops, I mean modern sporting rifle. Or is it modular repeating rifle?) its action is tight and crisp. The Byron South configuration - with two-stage trigger, quick-pointing 18-inch barrel and machined fore end - is the way to go.

Thanks for the review HuntingEditor. I live in Pa and if they ever let us hunt with semis here I will deffinately look into these, I have two Remington 700's on is a BDL Left hand in .270 and the other is an SPS Varmint in .223 and going on that I think that Remingtons are the best rifles out there. Even though they have been having problems I have not had a single problem with either of mine and stand behind Remington. Since we can hunt with bolt action, I have been looking at the T/C Venture Predator in .22-250. If they come out with one of those in a left handed model I will probably get one of those. But like I said if PA stops being gay and lets us hunt with semis I will get a Remington R15 Byron South Edition.
