I am looking at a .22lr preferably with a target barrel and noticed that almost all of them come without any sights mounted on it. I am wondering what would be better to mount on it for a sight: Iron, Peep, Red Dot/Reflex, or a Rifle Scope? It would primarily be used for shooting targets at a distance no more than 150 yards (more like 25 to 50 yards with occasional shots up to 100 yards) to make myself a better shot.

Here's my take--if your gaol is to become a better marksman, start with the iron sites until you can get tight groups at 25 yards or so. Then switch to a crosshair site and extend your range. But if your goal is really to get ready for the upcoming hunting season, practice with what you'll be hunting with.
