I am looking at buying a new rifle for this fall and am undecided between the Browning X-Bolt, Tikka T3 Lite, and a Weatherby Vanguard. Any input on these would be greatly appreciated. I am also thinking of getting a Remmington 870 Combo in 12 guage but have not heard great things about them. Any comments on that gun as well would be appreciated. Thanks Guys!

The rifles you mention are all quality firearms. Most would not disagree that the Browning ranks the highest with the Tikka and Vanguard running second and third. Therefore, choose the rifle that fits you the best and is chambered to the caliber you prefer and you can't go wrong. The Remington 870 in a combo is a good deal. It is the most popular shotgun for a reason and with an extra deer barrel you have a very versatile firearm. Many of us judge all the shotguns we acquire by comparing them to the way the 870 points and handles.

I would go for an A-Bold Browning, its been in production forever and I think is a bit smoother.

I have a Browning X-bolt in 325 WSM you can get them in anything. I have a full report at www.foremosthunting.com that will save me a lot of time. Our editor got one and loves it. The 300 WSM may be more popular and a 7mm/08 would be sweet.

On the 870, well I dont think they make a better pump gun...
