I did quite a bit of research into bedding techniques before setting up my competition .308. When I consulted McMillan about it they said that there is no noticeable difference in which way a stock is bedded as long as it's done by a competent gunsmith. The different methods of bedding are simply alternate ways of reaching the same goal of improving accuracy.
