Last spring, there was an issue that had an article about best buys that could be found on the internet. My issue got lost. I want to know what was the "deer" rifle and scope that was recommended and was on the internet for about $500.

I recommend looking into a Savage model 110. They offer an extremely fine rifle/scope package in a variety of calibers, around 400 dollars

They do the best new rifle thing every year, and once in a while they will do one on more affordable offerings.

I wish reviewers would give more of a voice to T/C's offerings. I think the venture is an an extremely high value firearm
