i'm looking at buying a 22-250 for long range shooting but i don't know what brand/model to get for the best accuracy, i'd also like a scope with distance and wind compensations that can pick up small game at around 700 yards without either the rifle or scope being overly expensive, any help is appreciated.

I am the proud owner of the stevens 22-250 with a 3-9x40 bushnell scope on it. It is also outfitted with a bipod and sling. I am quite fond of this firearm and have picked-off many of groundhog and played my had in cyote hunting with it over the past year. Looking at upgrading the scope as the 3-9x40 hardly does it justice for my likeings. I plan to do more upgrades with the trigger and such over the next year or two as I am mearly a college student with limmited funds. But overall my experience with it leads me to believe it is a very dependable rifle.
