I'm getting ready to buy a bull barrel for my 10/22. Probably Green Mountain or ER Shaw. I'm stuck on type. Regular bull, straight fluted, muzzle weighted. I think I shoot a heavier rifle better, but like the looks of the fluted, which also adds stiffness. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Dennis

I would get the best deal possible on a 10/22, then put a better barrel and stock on it. There are a lot of after market things you can do to that gun.

The 10-22 is one of the most versatile guns to modify into your dream gun.Just hope it shoots as good as you want it to.I have managed to put together such firarms and be disapointed at first with downrange accuracy .Just keep plugging.Good luck with your ruger projectthis will make a great new year project. But i like a sporter barrel on this small caliber gun, light recoil not much barrel movement.Have a happy New Year
