    I have a Remington 597 in 22LR with open sights and am wondering what distance to sight it in for.I will be hunting small game and doing a little bit of target shooting. Anybody have any recomendations?

    25 yards is a good starting pointmuch more than that and the bead covers most of the kill zone.It's hard to head shot a squirrel if the bead covers his entire head.Good luck

      My first thought was 25 yards as well. I always use a six-o'-clock hold when shooting iron sights. If you have to push it a little farther, just hold dead-on.
