With the cost of some rifles reaching the $2,000.00 to $5,000.00 range, why aren't more manufactures offering take down rifles?

Carol, Browning offers their lever action rifles in a takedown version. These rifles are not in the thousands but they perform better than many of the rifles that are that pricey. The Blaser rifle can change out standard caliber barrels with such ease that it would have to be considered a takedown. That is a very classy firearm with many calibers available and upgrades from a standard version that is already a beauty. those are the ones that have my attention and I am sure there are others.

Browning makes a good take down in the browning lever rifle. also sako makes the sako quad which comes with four barrels (.22, .22 mag, .17hmr, .17hm2) and there is also a survival gun i think by marlin that has a hollow stock in which the barrel and action fit into

You might be able to find a Sauer 202 takedown. I've seen several in the Cabela's Gun Library. One of the finest and smoothest bolt actions made.

A T/C Encore can be used as a take down plus you can get a barrel in just about any caliber. One shot-one kill.
