The most reliable rifle in my opinion is a 300 win mag bolt action. You can rely on the round to put down anything on the face of the earth at any reasonable distance, and the bolt action will increase accuracy and reliability. The only down side to the gun is you can rely on the ammo being at least 23 bucks a box, but if you can hold it steady, squeeze the round off, and put your shot where it counts, you will only need one.
