Is there any way to adjust a scope so that it would be close to or equivalent to the zero settings of being bore sighted?

Opps! I think you are right timberdoodle...In any case if he wants a cheap and fairly reliable boresight just center on a dot on the wall by peeking down the barrel and adjust the crosshair on the scope to the center of the same dot. Bingo!

I think what tduke is asking for is a method of bore-sighting that would require little further adjustment when he gets to the rifle range. There are bore-sighting devices on the market that a shooter inserts in the muzzle and makes adjustments that are supposed to be more accurate than by the conventional method.
I cannot attest to this, however.

Opps! Make that 1 1/2 inches high at 100 yards and dead on at around 200 yards or there abouts.
