being that i had to sell my deer rifle due to layoff i had a freind lend me a marlin 30-30,the is about 40 years old and i want to know if it would be safe to shoot the new lever evolution by hornady from this gun, thank you for any advice you can give me.

I would say most definally YES. The New Lever Evolution by Hornady, has the same CUP pressure. It has been given a better bullet and a new forumlated powder.

      Hello everyone!

That may depend on the overall length of the bullet. It may not feed properly because of the polymer tip makes the overall length of the bullet longer than the Round nose or Flat nose bullets. You may have to load one bullet at a time. If it is a Marlin, They have a part that you can get that will make the rifle accept the newer Leverevolution ammo, so it will load properly. Outside of that, it will shoot just like the other ammo, just have better accuracy at longer distances, about 200 yards.
