Roy Weatherby wanted to see just how strong his 9 lug Mark V action was. They got together with Norma engineers for the test. They put a bullet in the chamber of the rifle (I believe it was a .300WbyMag.) and a live round behind it and fired the rifle. The engineers could not see any damage to the action and estimate it held 250,000 psi. I saw this article in the Norma web site. P.S. Weatherby's normally operate around 65,000 psi .

I traded for a Yugo SKS still in the cosmoline. Lucky I took the bolt out - the firing pin was stuck in the forward position. I grabbed the back of it with players and could not budge it. Soaked the bolt in K-1 and eventually it loosened up. IF I had fired it I would have probably had a slam fire on my hands.
