I can't help wondering if by the time they get done ironing the bugs out of the Sig they would've saved money by going with Glocks.

Red, I read the trial info several months ago. The Glock passed everything perfect. The SIG has several FTF and jams. The SIG did not pass the high volume, continues fire test, the Glocks did pass. The reason for SIG award is the Government bid is $180 / handgun from SIG. Glock was twice that. The unknown is the amount of spare parts the SIG is going to require so you are right, the Glock is probably in the ball park. BTW, some of the special forces are issued Glocks.

I think they should adopt the Browning High-Power, to be made in the U.S.A.

Jimbo - So I've heard. They are too expensive to make, and just can't compete with the all-plastic striker-fired pistols on the market today.

To help settle the issue, here is a picture of "Glock leg," a condition that sometimes occurs in the act of holstering a Glock in a strong side holster.
The three wounds are entry, exit and grazing.
