A couple of users expressed an interest in seeing some of the knives I've made, so I thought I'd post a few pics. I did it here because hardly anyone visits the Photos section of the site anymore.

The knife on the right in the first pic is actually my brother's. The handle broke on it, so I rehandled it with a nice piece of antler. The other is a Western blade that I bought years ago. Both sheaths are my work.

The antler-handled knife in the 2nd pic is a knife that I rehandled years ago. Can't remember the brand. The other is a Remington blade, with cedar and antler handles.

The knife with the antler tine handle in the 3rd pic is another rehandled job. It was my first "real knife". I cut up a lot of deer with it, before realizing how poor the blade really was and retiring it. The other knife is a Colt blade, with an antler, leather, and wood handle.

The antler-handled knife in the final pic is my current skinning and game processing knife. It's a Camillus blade that I bought years ago. I don't know what the steel is, but it takes one hell of an edge, and holds it a long, long time. The other one in that photo looks pretty, but it was a generic "nameless" blade, and even after sharpening is so dull it wouldn't scare a stick of butter.

They all look good...and I visit the photo section quite often...the problem is that people never post any pictures, haha. Curious about how you liked the handle on the knife on the right in the third picture...circumference looks pretty slim to me.

I must say, that is certainly very excellent work, you can be proud of the knives as well as the sheaths. I was
always a perfectionist in my taxidemy work and I can see that in your work also. I particularlly like your blade
designs and the contours of your antler handels. Very fine hft and thanks for the pics !!

Nice do you also make the sheaths?
Like JM I checkout the photo section only to find very few new ones posted. Hmm, cone to think, it's been awhile since I posted any fresh ones myself...

I made some of those sheaths. All the tan-colored ones are my work. My grandfather was a master leatherworker, and I inherited a lot of his tools. I'm not a fraction as good as he was though.

And here I thought people never post photos because people never visit...lol. That knife is one of my experiments. The handle actually isn't that uncomfortable, although it would be very slippery when wet or bloody. I don't use that knife anymore, so I decided to have some fun with it.

It may sound strange, but I've always wanted to carve my own gun stock out of some Missouri walnut...lol. As for that knife, I like the look of it, but my concern was more about the balance when paired when that blade. But that's what experiments are for I suppose. Every ventured outside of knife making? Axes, etc?

That doesn't sound strange at all. Walnut isn't my favorite wood for knife handles, but you can't beat a nice piece for a gun stock. The balance on that knife isn't bad at all actually. That blade is very light for the size, probably because it's crappy steel, haha. I have not made any axes or hatchets to date. Probably just because I don't use them as much.
