My cousin just gave me his old compound bow. It's a Martin MT-6 cougar 11. I can't really find any information about it. So my question is what are the pros and cons and is it a good bow?

I do not know anything about that specific bow, but the older Martin bows have a pretty good reputation. Cons would be that on older bows it is often hard to find replacement parts, etc. It will most likely not be able to fit with any of the new archery equipment such as sights and arrow rests. The speed in which the bow can shoot arrows will be much slower than modern bows. Even with all of this, there is no reason it could not be used to hunt and shoot with as long as the bow was taken care off(the string is in good condition, etc.) and has an appropriate draw weight.

Charlie,it looks to be plastic.I haven't shot it yet.I'm not strong enough to pull it all the way back and hold it.I think pulled a muscle in my shoulder trying to hold it.It hasn't been tuned or fitted to me.My cousin used it quite a bit and he said it worked well for him. He got a new one so that's why I now have it.

The limbs are wood so make sure to check them for any cracks or splits. Your cousin is generous those bows if in good condition fetch $300-$500. Does it have plastic or aluminum wheels?
