  • Next year for my wedding gift for my groomsmen, I purchased folding knives and got their initials engraved on them. For my broth

Next year for my wedding gift for my groomsmen, I purchased folding knives and got their initials engraved on them. For my brother, the best man, I was looking to do a little bit of a more special knife. I was thinking a fixed blade, AMERICAN MADE, hunter style knife...nothing tactical, more traditional looking, but also won't break the bank. I had in mind a CASE hunter knife with the old-style leather handles. Anyone else have any other suggestions? Thanks

Check out Knives of Alaska---they're a cut or two above your ordinary knife, more expensive but something to be treasured for a long time.

I would check out A.G. Russell knives. They aren't cheap (but they aren't as expensive as some other brands out there either), and they are very, very good quality. My dad's owned one of their Canadian Belt Knives for 50+ years, and it's the best knife I've ever used. That particular model is no longer made unfortunately, but Russell offers a couple of similar ones on their website that I'm sure are good as well.

Both suggestions above are good ones. If you like a Case knife they are fine too. Columbia River Knife makes good knives as does SOG.Check out Smoky Mountain Knife Works for a wide variety.

I have a Case fixed blade with stacked leather. Given to me as a gift for graduation. It is a beautiful, classic hunting knife - extremely sharp and a high polish on the blade. In truth, it is so nice, i do not use it on a regular basis. My go to knife is a Shrade Pro2 or one of a few Buck's i have.
Also have a CRKT which is well made.
The Case would make a fine traditional knife i am sure he will treasure for a lifetime.
