I did but I had a lot of guidance from my father the first couple times. I was not felling trees however, that takes a lot of practice and experience. The tree has to go a pre planned direction, you have to watch for potential kick backs, all sorts of things. Be careful.

I am nearing 15 and use an axe and a maul more than a chain saw. i do use a chain saw on occasion but mainly i take the axe to branches and then split it into firewood. Like DSMbirddog said, be careful.

I will give you sometihing for FREE, that is advice. A chain saw is dangerous. Get some good guidance on how to use a chain saw. Be extra careful, a chain saw can do more damage in an instant than a good surgeon can repair in hours.

santas free advise doesn't mean it should be taken casually,I've seen grown experienced men hurt when they thought they had it all figured out. treat it like a mule that waits for that split second you become complacent to change your life forever .

As a retired ER Nurse, let me say that Santa is more correct than most people know. It is a dangerous tool that does not tolerate any carelessness at all. Any time this dog bites you, it will leave a mark that you will carry to your grave.
