I've got an ugly stik medium duty combo with 10 lb mono on it. Over a number of trips out with it, I still get lots of knots off the bailer and a number of other ordeals that, at least in part, seem to be caused by an awful lot of twist forming in the line. I guess the lures/baits I'm using and their action, but is this something braided line is meant to help? Is this reel just performing poorly? It gets real old to have to fight this every 15 casts or so.

good point big jake. Braided line does help some but you need to use swivels and some weight. Also look at the eyes on your rod if one is twisted or bent your line could be gettin hung up during casting. watch the line at the tip sometimes when retrieving the line can get wrapped around the tip causin problems too.
Lubricate the reel every 30 days or so if using the the reel alot.
