    I'd say no lower than 45lbs. If it will take a deer it ill' work on fish. Mines 50lbs(won't go lower).
    As for max- How much do you want to pull all night?

      I shoot a 45# PSE Coyote recurve without any problems with penetration. Will easily stick needle nose over five foot with a full draw. My brother-in-law and I shot 55 needle nose on the Sabine River in East Texas a couple of months ago with several of them being around 5 foot.
