i have inherited a shakespeare green/white 1950's era fly rod no.1245 7'0" with fbc under it. what can you tell me of its history, what line wt. to use and any thing else about the rod.i cannot find out anything on the web. thanks DR Cantow

Check out this website for line weight (http://fiberglass-fly-rods.pbworks.com/Shakespeare)
But depending on the storage and care the rod has over its life may make the rod brittle. I suggest puting it on display or selling it to collectors.

      jwhadee,
      Thanks for the info.
I also have a similar rod and had limited info but remember buying in a hardware store in northwest Iowa for about $20, with reel!!
I did occasionally use mine until a friend told me what I had. Now it is just for show and tell.
