What time of year is topwater most effective for bass.

If you are wanting to use topwater now then you are in luck! Spring and summer are the best times for it because the water is warmer and the fish are feistier (or is it more feisty?). In the winter fish are more sluggish and therefore want to save their energy. In the summer they will chase stuff more and they will investigate your topwater plug with more interest. Good Luck!

Nc's right. Summer time, early and late in the day are my best times.

the time of the year does so matter the water tempature only makes the fish want to eat alot but in the spring the bass are spawning so they will strike at anything that comes there way to protect there eggs
