What is the best method to catch a carp?

I've had my best luck with canned corn. The trick is to scatter some around the day before. I've also had luck with plain night crawlers.

Just like Dave, i bought a can of corn at the grocery and put between 5 and 10 kernels on a hook and it works great. You may also catch some nice catfish with this method.

Corn is an alright method, if you really want to catch big (20lb+) then try boilies, it's a european style of bait. Also if you do try the corn method, use a hair rig. www.royalcarp.com has some good rigging set-ups including trying a hair rig. the other guys are right, try and prebait an area a day or 2 before you fish it, or at least right when you get there. you can catch carp all day, they don't have stomachs and graze all day.

Balls of corn and dough is great or just use anything that will spread lots of scent through the water.

So far, I've built a "bee vacuum" and a "swarm trap".
When I deploy the trap this spring, I'll need at least one hive....I hope!...
